Hello World!

So this is my first blog post…

I even created a Twitter Account for this blog, which by the way, made me feel really bad. It’s actually my first real private social media account. Why do I say real? Well, of course, I’m part of the Steam Community and also of BattleNET if that even counts, but I have never been part of Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat … Not even MySpace back then when no one really knew what social networking will mean some day.

So why did I choose a Twitter account?

Twitter is public and Tweets are immediately viewable and searchable by anyone around the world. We give you non-public ways to communicate on Twitter too, through protected Tweets and Direct Messages. You can also use Twitter under a pseudonym if you prefer not to use your name.

This is the first paragraph of Twitter’s Privacy Policy and it clearly states, that you are able to use your personal pseudonym if you’d prefer. So you don’t have to use your real name, address, phone number, certificate of birth and most importantly for what I believe, you don’t have to trade in your soul to use Twitter. But we’ll analyze it over time…

So what’s this all about?

Currently, I will probably mostly release posts about technology and privacy, but in future, I also want to tackle politics, veganism and how we’re destroying the planet we live on.

I see a lot of people that don’t even know what’s happening with their data, how it’s collected, spread and misused. I want to use this blog to make guides for people that want to have a smaller digital footprint, people who want to keep their privacy private and want to see how their data has been gathered and distributed.

I plan on releasing one post per month at a minimum -> let’s see if I can keep up with my own goals.
